This in-law suite makeover was designed to function as a comfortable short-term rental while feeling immersive and intentional. A rug and existing art piece set the tone for a safari-inspired palette grounded in earthy hues, warm brass and gold accents, and layered textures.
 

To add more storage space we installed built-in closets and DIYed antiqued and burnished mirror panels, giving them a custom, timeworn feel. Textiles and finishes were selected to add depth and warmth without overwhelming the space, creating a setting that feels both relaxed and transportive. The bathroom was fully gutted and rebuilt with large-format porcelain tile featuring dramatic veining, adding contrast and a sense of luxury.

 

Light wood-grain LVP flooring, bamboo roman shades, and sculptural accents completed the space, making it both visually striking and highly functional. The result is a thoughtfully designed suite that works seamlessly as an Airbnb while offering a rich, memorable experience for guests.
